Two North Kerry piers are set to benefit from a €2.2m Capital programme announced today for 39 local authority harbour projects.
Dromatoor Pier in Ballyheigue and Tarbert Pier have been named as two of the areas which will receive a total of €127,500.
Ballyheigue Pier will receive €112,500 of that fund for further strengthening and to underpin the quay wall together with an alignment of stone to the face of the wall.
Tarbert Pier will receive €15,000 in order to carry ouy structural repairs including an underpinning to the slipway and crackage repair of the sea-wall.
Minister Michael Creed announced the funding today for 12 local authorities to enhance the amenities provided to the wider marine community in coastal areas.
