A North Kerry father – threatened with the loss of his home, just months after the sudden death of his wife – says he can finally see a future for himself and his children, thanks to the generosity of the people of Ireland.
Raymond Flavin from Lisselton lost his wife Trish in January, when she died suddenly, leaving him with five children.
At the time he was struggling with a mortgage, having been wheelchair bound, following an accident at work.
When the bank threatened to repossess the family home, the Flavin’s story made national headlines, resulting in a ‘Go Fund Me’ page being set up by friends in Ballybunion.
To date, that fund has raised €80,000, with donations coming in from all over the country.
