The positive contributions young people make to their communities will be recognised at this year’s Lee Strand/Kerry Garda Youth Achievement Awards.

Nominations are being taken until December 9th and can be made by individuals, community and voluntary groups, schools and youth clubs.

This year twenty merit awards will be presented along with group awards, a special achievement award and a community safety award.

An overall winner will also be announced at the event in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee on January 24th.

Chief Superintendent for Kerry Eileen Foster says it’s important to recognise youths.
