A status yellow rainfall warning will take effect at 7pm for counties, including in the south and west.
Kerry, Cork, Waterford, Galway and Mayo will see heavy rain at times tonight and tomorrow morning.
Spot flooding is possible.
The alert will stay in place until half 12 tomorrow afternoon.
