Over 42% rise in number of automatic cars registered in Kerry

The number of automatic cars registered in Kerry has risen by over 42% in a year.

That’s according to figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) for October.

The report shows that over 2,500 new cars have been registered in the county this year.

46 new cars were registered in Kerry during October this year, this represents a rise of 35% on the same month last year, when 34 were registered.

Automatic cars accounted for the majority of new cars registered, at 80%, with the number of automatic registrations.

The number of automatic car registrations jumped by over 42% in a year, while manual cars also rose by just under 13%.

There was a 100% increase in Electric car registrations in the twelve months to October, while petrol/plug-in electric hybrids jumped by 75%.

Nine diesel engine cars were registered in October a 12% rise, there was also nine petrol cars registered in the month, a 28% increase.

The report shows the number of petrol electric hybrids registered in Kerry fell by 11% in October.

According to the data, grey is the most popular colour of new cars in Kerry, accounting for 35% of registrations.
