The number of people signing on Kerry’s Live Register increased by almost 10% in a month.
That’s according to figures compiled by the Central Statistics Office.
They show there were over 5,800 people signing on the Live Register in Kerry last month.
During July, 5,877 people in Kerry signed on the Live Register.
That’s a 13% decrease when compared to July last year, when 6,813 people signed on in Kerry.
It’s an 8% increase when compare to the previous month; in June 5,441 people signed on in Kerry.
All seven of Kerry’s social welfare offices reported annual decreases.
Cahersiveen is down 180 to 323, while Dingle is down 61 to 248 and Kenmare is down 81 to 290.
Killarney’s figure stands at 955 after a drop of 239, while Killorglin’s social welfare office saw a drop of 46 to 422.
Listowel’s figure stands at 1,037 after a drop of 93 and in Tralee it dropped 236 to 2,602 for July.
