The number of people signing on Kerry’s Live Register increased by 5% in a month.
That’s according to figures compiled by the Central Statistics Office.
They show there were over 5,500 people signing on the Live Register in Kerry in September.
During October, 5,550 people in Kerry signed on the Live Register.
That’s a 2% decrease when compared to October last year, when 5,708 people signed on in Kerry.
It’s a 5% increase when compare to the previous month; in September, 5,247 people signed on in Kerry.
Six of Kerry’s social welfare offices reported annual decreases.
Cahersiveen is down 44 to 382, while Dingle is down 21 to 300 and Kenmare is down 27 to 272.
Killorglin’s figure stands at 395 after a drop of 3, while Listowel’s figure stands at 964 after a drop of 12 and in Tralee it dropped 77 to 2,332 for October.
Killarney’s social welfare office saw an increase of 26 to 905.
