The number of people signing on Kerry’s Live Register fell by 15% in a year.
That’s according to figures compiled by the Central Statistics Office.
They show there were over 5,700 people signing on the Live Register in Kerry last month.
During April, 5,766 people in Kerry signed on the Live Register.
That’s a 15.3% decrease when compared to April last year, when 6,809 people signed on in Kerry.
It’s also a 4.5% drop when compared to the previous month; in March, 6,030 people signed on in the county.
All seven of Kerry’s social welfare offices reported annual decreases.
Cahersiveen is down 207 to 382, while Dingle is down 74 to 320 and Kenmare is down 60 to 311.
Killarney’s figure stands at 948 after a drop of 272, while Killorglin’s social welfare office saw a drop of 70 to 401.
Listowel’s figure stands at 970 after a drop of 51 and in Tralee it dropped 309 to 2,434 for April.
