The number of people signing on Kerry’s Live Register fell by 17% in a year.
That’s according to figures compiled by the Central Statistics Office.
They show there were over 6,000 people signing on the Live Register in Kerry last month.
During March, 6,030 people in Kerry signed on the Live Register.
That’s a 17% decrease when compared to March last year, when 7,278 people signed on in Kerry.
It’s also almost a 7% (6.9%) decrease when compare to the previous month; in February, 6,481 people signed on in Kerry.
All seven of Kerry’s social welfare offices reported annual decreases.
Cahersiveen is down 215 to 452, while Dingle is down 100 to 363 and Kenmare is down 58 to 343.
Killarney’s figure stands at 1,056 after a drop of 326, while Killorglin’s social welfare office saw a drop of 97 to 410.
Listowel’s figure stands at 975 after a drop of 97 and in Tralee it dropped 355 to 2,431 for March.
