The number of people signing on Kerry’s Live Register fell by almost 20% in a year.
That’s according to figures compiled by the Central Statistics Office.
They show there were over 5,400 people signing on the Live Register in Kerry last month.
During June, 5,441 people in Kerry signed on the Live Register.
That’s a 17% decrease when compared to June last year, when 6,586 people signed on in Kerry.
It’s also a 3% decrease when compare to the previous month; in May, 5,266 people signed on in Kerry.
All seven of Kerry’s social welfare offices reported annual decreases.
Cahersiveen is down 188 to 326, while Dingle is down 75 to 235 and Kenmare is down 94 to 264.
Killarney’s figure stands at 859 after a drop of 255, while Killorglin’s social welfare office saw a drop of 62 to 382.
Listowel’s figure stands at 958 after a drop of 115 and in Tralee it dropped 356 to 2,417 for June.
