The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 994 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
As of 8am today, 80 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 22 are in ICU.
Dr. Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, said people who are unvaccinated, including children, should continue to avoid high-risk, uncontrolled indoor settings, including indoor hospitality.
Meanwhile, Monday July 26th is the planned re-opening day for indoor dining.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has said that's the day Government hopes indoor hospitality will be able to resume for the first time this year.
Mr Varadkar has said work is under way to finalise the guidelines for that re-opening.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said there is an element of risk to re-opening, but it will be managed.
