Jerry received an email from a farmer who is opposed to the new residential zoned land tax; he claims it’s anti-farmer and smacks of the suppression imposed on small tenant farmers in the 19th century. Jerry speaks to Cllr John O’Donoghue who says if a farmer can clearly show that the land has been a main source of income for a specified length of time (five or ten years, for example), then they should be exempt from the tax.
