A new children’s play area is planned for the Killarney National Park. Following a 20 year campaign Duchas has confirmed that it’s to give the use of a 1.5 acre plot to Killarney Town Council. The area to be given is alongside the current playing pitches and opposite The Cathedral and the old monastery. The move follows an onsite meeting with council officials before Christmas. The council will now proceed with plans for a sensitively designed playground in keeping with the natural surrounds.
