New boat launched to facilitate disabled anglers.

A new 4,000 euro boat has been launched which will allow disabled anglers to have access to the water. The 19 foot fibre glass boat is custom built and is equipped with a non slip floor and rings to fasten wheelchairs. The impetus to build the vessel came from Killarney anglers, the South West Regional Fisheries Bord, Cork Prison Officers Social Club, and the South Western Fisheries Development Society. There are four access points around the county for disabled anglers but they say more are needed. Proper access according to one angler is the difference between fishing and not fishing.
