National Women’s Council runs campaign to change welfare system

The National Women’s Council of Ireland is running a campaign to change the social welfare system. The idea behind the brown envelope campaign came from a social welfare reform seminar which took place in Kerry last year. They are asking people in the county to sign a letter which lists a number of recommendations for change which will be presented to minister cowen on the 17th. Clare Dunne is a spokesperson for the National Women’s Council.
