National Learning Network students honoured in Tralee

Over 190 people – who completed courses with the National Learning Network in Tralee – have been honoured at a special ceremony in Fels Point. Students were presented with certificates in a range of courses that support people entering or returning to employment. The courses included Information Technology, Catering & Culinary Skills, Retail Sales, Woodwork and Business Studies as well as rehabilitative programmes. Representatives from the HSE, SOLAS and Kerry ETB attended the ceremony. Independent TDs Michael Healy Rae and Tom Fleming were also in attendance. The students were presented with certificates by legendary GAA broadcaster Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh. Micheal O Muircheartaigh, Dingle GAA & former Kerry stars Tommy Griffin and Diarmuid Murphy with John Bambury at the launch of plans for the new Dingle GAA clubhouse. National Learning Network Tralee is the second largest of the 50 National Learning Network centres in the country. There are two NLN centres in Tralee – in Clash Industrial Estate and a satellite service in the Education Centre in Dromtacker – as well as a retail training outlet in Kerry General Hospital.
