National GAA Round Up

A place in the Ulster football final is up for grabs when Derry and Donegal meet in Clones later. It’s a 7 o’clock throw-in there and that’s preceded by the minor meeting between the same counties. Armagh are the first team through on the B side of the footballer qualifiers after beating Wicklow in the last hour. 2-17 to 2-7 was the final score at the Athletic Grounds, with Jamie Clarke contributing 2-5 of that. Elsewhere in the qualifiers, Down travel to Innovate Wexford Park to face the Model’s footballers from half-6. And, at 7, Louth and Leitrim square-off in Drogheda for a place in the next round. There was Connacht and Leinster Minor Championship action earlier. At Pearse Park, Longford have beaten Meath 1-8 to 5 points. While, in Carrick-on-Shannon Sligo beat Leitrim on a scoreline of 4-9 to 12 points. It’s full-time across the board in today’s Liberty Insurance Camogie Championship action. In Birr, Wexford were 4-11 to 13 points winners against Offaly, while Cork beat Limerick, 1-14 to 1-10, in the other Group 1 match. In Group 2, Kilkenny beat Clare 2-22 to 6 points and Tipperary narrowly came out on top against Derry – 3-12 to 4-8 the final score.
