National award for Tralee Community Training Centre

Tralee Community Training Centre has received a national award marking its achievements.

The Tralee centre, which provides second-chance education for early school leavers, received a specially commissioned plaque from the Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, at an event at Dublin Castle.

Over the last 40 years, Community Training Centres have provided support to more than 100,000 young people in making the transition to work or further education through the Youthreach programme.

Chair of Tralee Community Training Centre, John Wall said the programmes it offers focuses on individual learner needs.

He said the Tralee centre was rooted in the community and its programmes were based on experiential learning with recognised qualifications.
