A multi-storey car park is being considered for Killarney.
A number of councillors raised motions at the recent municipal district meeting, calling for the provision of extra car parking in the tourist town.
Cathaoirleach of Killarney MD, John Sheahan asked Kerry County Council what stage are plans at for the promised multi-storey car park in the town, while Councillor Maura Healy-Rae suggested the Glebe Car Park as a location for any multi-level parking facility.
Fianna Fáil councillors John Joe Culloty and Niall Kelleher also both brought motions in relation to car parking in the town.
In response, Kerry County Council said the purchase of lands on Rock Road is complete and a funding source is currently being sought for the 190-space car park.
It adds a project team will also be set up to develop a strategy for the Aras Phádraig site on Lewis Road, and provision of a multi-storey car park will be examined in conjunction with the plan.
