Minister turns the sod on new road

The County’s Director of transport says the new road project is more about safety than shorter journey times. Transport Minister Seamus Brennan turned the first sod on a four-kilometre stretch of new road between Tralee and Killarney this morning. Nearly 15 million euro will be spent to double the single carriageway road from Gort-a-clay to Farranfore. The work also includes the building of a new bridge over the River Maine.
