Minister Finian McGrath plans to invest in Kerry disability services to ensure quality and high standards.
The Minister of State for Disability Issues was in Listowel today to meet with families and people with disabilities.
He says his key objectives are to reform and invest to ensure people with disabilities in Kerry are at the centre of the services.
The Minister visited Nano Nagle Special School which recently added a nurse to their staff following an investment.
He says more resources will be put into Kerry services.
Minister McGrath also travelled to Ashfield Lodge – a Saint John of God community service for adults and he met with representatives from Kerry Parents and Friends as well as local families.
The Minister is also looking at personalised budgets to help support Kerry families.
This would enable families who are not happy with the service to decide how best to support their child.
