Minister may target tourist routes for extra funding

The Minister for Transport could target certain tourist routes in the county for additional funding. Martin Cullen says he will consider a case for additional funding for certain strategic routes. The bulk of roads money is targeted at primary routes but kerry has the highest mileage of secondary rotes in the country and has in the past argued for increased resources in this area. At this months meeting of kerry County Council Paul O Donohue made a case for a fund for tourist routes such as The Ring Of Kerry and the Tralee to Dingle road. Minister Martin Cullen says this could be considered in a regional context.
