Cllr Bobby O'Connell Minister Brian Hayes is to meet with Fine Gael Councillor Bobby O Connell  this week in relation to flooding in Tullig in Castleisland. The flooding at Tullig is understood to be caused by the Glounsharoon River which breaches the retaining wall. Following a parliamentary question by Deputy Brendan Griffin, Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, Brian Hayes said the channel is not the responsibility of the Office of Public Works. However he says that Kerry County Council can apply for funding under the minor works programme. Councillor O Connell says Minister Hayes is to meet with him next week to discuss the problem.
