Milltown school fails to get funding for extra accomodation

Minister of State Tim O Malley says Milltown Secondary School failed to get funding for extra accommodation as it failed to show evidence of an absolute need for new classrooms. However the Minister says all projects are being reviewed and there may be funding for Milltown in a future round. He was responding to a Dail motion from Deputy Breda Moynihan Cronin who says they need three prefabs urgently to cater for over 100 enrolments in September. She claims the school was advised by the Department of Education to bus students to Killorglin to help alleviate the accommodation crisis. Minister O Malley says the money available must also be taken into account.
