14 Kerry patients travel to North for cataract procedures this weekend

14 patients will arrive back into Killarney this evening after having cataract procedures through the Cross-Border Directive.

The EU directive allows patients in the Republic to access health care services in another EU state.

Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae organised the logistics of bringing the patients to Belfast for the procedures.

He’s voiced his concerns about the waiting times in University Hospital Kerry for any surgical procedures.
