Measures introduced to protect incomes of people self-isolating

The Acting Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection says measures have been introduced to protect the incomes of people who have to self-isolate due to coronavirus.

Regina Doherty says both employees and the self-employed will be able to receive immediate State benefits if they’ve been medically advised to stay out of work.

She says the government’s aim is to ensure people voluntarily report cases of COVID19.
