Russell Henley leads going into the final round of the USPGA Deutsche Bank Championship. He’s 12 under after a 65, 1 ahead of Billy Horschel, who posted 67. Rory McIlroy is tied for 3rd on 10 under following a 64. Alongside McIlroy are Jason Day and Chris Kirk. Winner of the Champions Tour Shaw Charity Classic was Fred Couples, who beat Billy Andrade at the first extra hole of a play-off. The pair finished at 15 under after rounds of 61 and 62 respectively and were 2 clear of Steve Lowery and Joe Daley. Ireland’s Mark McNulty tied for 15th on 8 under. The LPGA Portland Classic was also won in a play-off as Austin Ernst defeated I K Kim. The duo were tied at minus 14, two ahead of Chella Choi and So Yeon Ryu, after closing with 67 and 68 respectively. Ernst won at the first extra hole. Trish Johnson was victorious in the Scottish Open, beating Gwladys Nocera by two shots. Europe Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley will spend the day assessing which 3 players he’ll select as his wildcard picks for this year’s event at Gleneagles. Among them could be Stephen Gallacher, after he narrowly missed out on an automatic spot by finishing third at the Italian Open. Ian Poulter, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood are also contenders.
