Mayor of Tralee warns councillors face disbandment.

The Mayor of Tralee says town councilors will have to face disbandment or else take a brave decision on the refuse collection service. He is suggesting suspending the collection service for a year and offering 80,000 euro to a private operator to collect bins from the elderly and unemployed.Councilors have met three times on their budget and appear no closer to reaching agreement. If a decision is not reached by Monday night the Minister for the Environment could disband the authority and appoint a commissioner to run the town. According to Mayor O Brien attempts to find money to fund the refuse collection service have so far failed and he’s not optimistic about Monday`s meeting.
