Mayo Ratify New Football Manager

Stephen Rochford has been ratified as the new Mayo manager on a 3 year term. Tony Mc Entee, Sean Carey and Kerry’s Donie Buckley will form his backroom team. Nominations are now closed for the Galway hurling manager’s job. Mattie Kenny, John Hardiman, Johnny Kelly and Michael Donoghue are all said to be in the running. The county board will now begin the process of finding out who’s interested before interviews begin. It’s reported that the Dublin and Galway hurlers could be hit with suspensions in the aftermath of their Super 11 Boston brawl. According to the Irish Independent a player from both sides could face a charge from the C.C.C.C despite their county boards already being fined. IT Tralee were beaten by one point in their Senior Hurling League Division 2 semi-final, going down 13 points to 2-8 to Trinity College Dublin.
