Mayo Ladies Still Stuck in On-going Feud

The decision of 12 Mayo players to withdraw from the senior panel before last month’s Ladies Football qualifier with Cavan has seen Carnacon thrown out of the 2018 Mayo Championship.

Eight of the twelve hail from the reigning All Ireland Ladies Football champions.

The decision was taken by Mayo County Board last Tuesday night, as they viewed the players’ actions as bringing the game into disrepute.

The twelve players and two selectors withdrew their services over player welfare issues.

Angelina Nugent of Mid-West Radio was asked if Ladies football in Mayo was now in turmoil after the expulsion of Carnacon.
