Match Details Confirmed For Ardfert & Brosna All-Ireland Semis

DSCF2947 Match details have been confirmed for the AIB All-Ireland Intermediate & Junior Club Football Championship semi-finals. Both Ardfert and Brosna will be in action from 2 o’clock on Sunday January 25th. In the Intermediate Ardfert face Cumann Pheadair Naofa, Warrenpoint of Down in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise. The Junior sees Brosna go up against Rock St.Patrick’s from Tyrone in Kiltoom, Roscommon. One of the proposals of the Hurling 2020 Review Committee is to be trialled in the forthcoming pre-season Provincial hurling competitions. The Munster and Leinster Councils have agreed to trial a proposal on the penalty puck in which only the goalkeeper may stand on the goal-line. The full report of the Hurling 2020 Review Committee, which is chaired by former Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy, will be published in early January. The GAA is delighted to announce the appointment of Tomás Meehan as its first Chief Information Officer. A graduate of Dublin City University and Trinity College, Tomás previously worked for PwC and Allied Irish Banks. He will have responsibility for the development, implementation and operation of the GAA’s information technology strategy and will oversee all information systems infrastructure within the Association. An All-Ireland senior championship medal winner with both Galway and Caltra, Tomás will take up his new post in the New Year. Ard Stiúrthóir Paraic Duffy, whose current seven year fixed-term contract expires on 31 January 31 2015, has accepted the offer of an extension from the Management Committee. The term of the new contract will be finalised at a later date.
