Management and unions at Irish Rail to continue negotiations

Management and unions at Irish Rail will return to talks at the Labour Relations Commission this morning – with the aim of averting three more strikes at the company. Exploratory discussions adjourned late last night after more than 10 hours. NBRU The dispute over pay cuts led to two 24-hour work stoppages last month – which disrupted tens of thousands of commuters and cost Irish Rail 1.5 million euro. More strikes are planned for next Sunday and Monday – as well as September 21st. Negotiations will resume at 10.30 this morning.
