Man remains in critical condition following after being taken from water near Ballyferriter

It’s understood a man, taken from the water near Beál Bán, Ballyferriter on Tuesday evening, remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The skipper and first mate of a local fishing boat noticed the man in the water – it’s thought he may have been kayaking.

He was brought ashore to Ballydavid Pier by the fishermen where they were met by Dingle ambulance crew.

The man was airlifted by Shannon Rescue 115 – coordinated by Valentia Coast Guard and Dingle Cliff Coast Rescue – from Gallarus GAA pitch to hospital where it’s understood he remains in a critical condition.
