Man believed to be from Listowel pleads not guilty to a serious assault charge in UK

A man believed to be from Listowel has pleaded not guilty to a serious assault charge in the UK.

British Police had previously issued an appeal to locate Eamon Harnett, following an alleged assault which occurred on July 11th in Chineham, Basingstoke.

Mr Harnett appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, facing a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

It follows an incident in a car park on July 11th in Basingstoke, following which a 25-year-old man was left in a critical condition.

Mr Harnett, who’s believed to be originally from Listowel, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He was released on conditional bail, and is to reappear in February of next year.
