A man believed to be from Listowel is facing a serious assault charge in the UK.
British Police had issued an appeal in order to locate Eamon Harnett, following an alleged assault which occurred on July 11th in Chineham, Basingstoke.
A 25-year-old man was left in a critical condition after the incident.
Police were looking for Eamon Harnett, as they believed he may have had information which could help them with their investigation into the assault.
Hampshire police cancelled the appeal, and subsequently arrested 31-year-old Mr Hartnett, of Ascension Close, Basingstoke, UK.
It’s believed he is originally from the Listowel area.
Mr Harnett was charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on August 15th.
Mr Harnett has been bailed to reappear at Winchester Crown Court on September 12th.
Also, a 28-year-old man from Buckinghamshire has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, arising from the same incident.
