Man appears in Tralee court charged with possession of €6,000 worth of heroin

Tralee District Court has heard Gardai found almost 240 separate deals of heroin when they searched a man in the town this week.

31-year-old Mindaugas Razma who gave an address at Room 16, Finnegan’s Hostel, Tralee appeared before Judge James O’Connor.

Mr Razma, a Lithuanian national, is charged with possession of heroin for the purpose of sale or supply on Princes St, Tralee yesterday.

Tralee District Court heard Gardai observed the accused acting suspiciously at a quarter to midday when they searched him they found 237 separate deals of heroin worth around €6,000.

Mr Razma told the Gardai he had heroin to sell.

He was arrested and taken to Listowel Garda station; when charged he replied “no comment”.

Solicitor Padraig O’Connell told the court the accused is currently not in employment and lives with his girlfriend; free legal aid was granted.

Mr O’Connell said his client had come from Dublin with a package; his job was a delivery boy with this package.

Gardai objected to bail. Judge James O’Connor remanded Mr Razma in custody, by consent, and ordered him to reappear at the court on July 5th next.
