Man airlifted to hospital after suffering crush injury on vessel off Kerry coast

A man is being airlifted to hospital after suffering a crush injury on a vessel off the Kerry coast.

The crewman on a Russian factory ship was injured this afternoon, 180 miles west of Kerry.

The Shannon and Waterford coast guard helicopters are involved in the rescue, and the man, who’s in his 30s is being taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
