The Macroom bypass won’t be affected by the cost overruns at the National Children’s Hospital.
€75 million from a range of capital projects is now being reallocated to fund the new hospital.
€27 million will come from the A5 motorway in Northern Ireland, while €10 million will come from both the National Forensic Science Laboratory and the Department of Education and Skills.
Speaking in the Dáil, Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae highlighted there was concern locally as to whether the Macroom bypass would be affected as a result.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar gave the Kerry deputy assurances the project wouldn’t be impacted.
