CYCLING
Ireland's Sam Bennett has won the intermediate sprint on today's Stage 18 of the Tour de France.

Bennett has won 20 more points to move to 298 in total and he increases his lead to 52-points over Peter Sagan in the points classification.

Today's stage is the biggest day of climbing on the tour and there's still 150 kilometres left to ride.

SOCCER
Liverpool are believed to be on the verge of signing midfielder Thiago from Bayern Munich.

It's believed a 30 million transfer for the Spanish international could be imminent.

He's set to sign a 4 year deal.

AC Milan will face their first competitive fixture of the season against Shamrock Rovers in a Europa League second qualifying round tie tonight.

Jockey Jack Kennedy recently made a comeback to the saddle after breaking his leg in a fall at Leopardstown back in February. A Kerry native, Kennedy is very much looking forward to the 2020 Listowel Harvest Festival that gets underway this Sunday. Kennedy spoke to Dave Keena about his hopes for further success at his local track but first he discussed his winning return from injury.
