Ireland forwards coach Simon Easterby believes their pack will be a “different animal” in Saturday’s must-win clash with Samoa at the Rugby World Cup.

Joe Schmidt changed seven of his eight forwards ahead of last week’s win over Russia but he’s expected to recall his big guns this weekend.

Easterby feels those returning players will be keen to atone for their performances in the loss against Japan but he knows it’ll be difficult to dominate Samoa’s pack

Laois man Dempsey joined the Kilkenny set-up as physical trainer ahead of the 2005 season and was involved in eight All-Ireland victories.

Legendary former forward D-J Carey is expected to now join Kilkenny’s backroom team as a selector.
