Lunchtime Sports Update

GAA

All Ireland senior hurling champions Limerick make the trip to Nowlan Park this afternoon to play Kilkenny in Division 1A of the Allianz National League.

Limerick welcome the Hurler of the Year Cian Lynch and Young Hurler of the Year Kyle Hayes into their starting team.


Walter Walsh returns to the Kilkenny line-up for his first start of the campaign.

Elsewhere in Division 1A, Wexford host Tipperary at Innovate Wexford Park.

Liam Sheedy has made five changes to his Tipp side, with Paul Maher, Jason Forde and John O’Dwyer among those to come in.

And in Division 1B, it’s Galway to meet Dublin at Pearse Stadium.

All 3 matches begin at 2pm.

In Division 1, Group 1 of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League, Dublin play Limerick and Offaly meet Kilkenny.

In Group 2, it’s Waterford versus Galway and Wexford to face Tipperary.

Gaelic Football’s Sigerson Cup continues with a semi final involving UCC and NUI Galway.

That begins in Mallow from 2pm.

St Mary’s of Belfast await the winners.

Soccer

There are 3 games in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Bristol City and Wolves are just kicking off at Ashton Gate.

Callum O’Dowda is in the Bristol team.

It’s Doncaster Rovers up against Crystal Palace from 4pm.

And at the same time, Swansea City play Brentford.

In the SKY Bet Championship, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough have just started their tie.

In the Scottish Premiership, champions Celtic are away to Kilmarnock from 4pm.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will look to go 8 points clear at the summit of the table.

Rory McIlroy is 8 under par at the weather delayed Genesis Open on the US PGA Tour in California, 3 holes into his third round.
