Long-standing Tralee business forced to close due to spiralling insurance costs

A long-standing Tralee business has been forced to close its doors due to spiralling insurance costs.

Abrakebabra, which has been operating in Tralee for 22 years, closed last Friday night with the loss of ten jobs.

Labour councillor in Tralee Terry O’Brien, whose family runs Abrakebabra, says the business couldn’t get a ‘logical’ insurance quote.

The business would re-open if they were able to get a proper quote, according to the councillor.

Cllr Terry O’Brien says they are now being quoted triple the amount they paid last year.
