Liverpool have confirmed captain Steven Gerrard will leave at the end of the season. It will bring an end to his 17-year association with the club, during which time he’s won 10 trophies – including the Champions League. The midfielder is yet to decide which team he will move to in the summer, though he’s being heavily linked with a career in Major League Soccer in the US. Gerrard says leaving Anfield was the toughest decision of his life. Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is disappointed the club didn’t do more to keep him [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/33307/medium/”] Five days of FA Cup third round action starts tonight as Cardiff host Colchester in the opening contest. There’s also a match hanging over from the second round, as MK Dons will face Chesterfield. It’s a replayed game, as Chesterfield fielded an ineligible player in their original meeting, which they won 1-0. The winner will take on Scunthorpe on Tuesday.
