Litter remains a problem on Kerry’s beaches

Kerry County Council says litter on the county’s beaches remains a large problem. The beach bye laws were introduced at the beginning of the summer. An environmental awareness officer with the council says they have proved successful, but they will be revisited in September.Michael O Coileain says there have been no reports of non compliance and any applications for permission to hold events on beaches have been granted. He says the council will look into introducing further bye laws to deal with jet skis.
