Listowel Town Council hold emergency meeting

Members of Listowel Town Council have held an emergency meeting to discuss the planning controversy at the castle in the town. Members are declining to comment on the outcome of the meeting but it`s understood they have been urged to refrain from commenting in the event of a legal case being taken. The hour long meeting between officials and members was held behind closed doors, no members of the media were invited and Radio Kerry News understands no minutes were taken.It`s understood the planning application to erect a statue of Bryan Mc Mahon was discussed as well as the current planning debacle over the performance area at the castle. It`s unclear what the outcome of the meeting was. A brief statement was issued by the Cathoirleach Marie Gorman. She says an information session on the overall development of the castle forecourt was held. The Town Council has issued a warning notice.
