Listowel publican chosen as new chairman of the Kerry Vintners’ Federation

A Listowel publican has been chosen as the new chairman of the Kerry Vintners’ Federation.

Christy Walsh, who’s served as chairman of Listowel Vintners, was appointed at a meeting of the organisation last night.

He succeeds Killorglin publican, Ger Counihan, who held the position for several years.

Mr Walsh, who owns Walsh’s Bar in the town, says publicans are facing a number of challenges, including the changing habits of their customers and escalating costs.
