Listowel man among writers of new film set during Great Famine

A Listowel man is among the writers of a new film set during the Great Famine.

PJ Dillon, who is a cinematographer and filmmaker, is among the team who wrote Black 47.

The movie tells the story of an Irish Ranger who returns home during the height of the Famine in 1847 after fighting for the British Army aboard.


The drama is directed by Lance Daly and is released in cinemas from this week.
