Listowel Credit Union proposing cut to Death Benefit Insurance

Listowel Credit Union is proposing to end its Death Benefit Insurance for members.

The insurance provided a fixed amount of benefit to assist with the costs associated with a member’s death.

Management at Listowel Credit Union, which is holding its AGM tonight at 8 o’clock, say the cost of the measure has been increasing in recent years and now costs €60,000 per year.

The credit union is proposing to cease the payment on April 1st with the cost savings being used to provide enhanced services and ensure the branch remains strong and secure.
