Lidyl application to go for public consultation.

Steps are being put in place to decide whether or not to allow the supermarket chain Lidyl to set up in Listowel. A decision was made last night to allow the Lidyl application go out for public consultation. Following a period of two months members of the council will then vote on a material contravention to decide whether or not to allow the construction of the supermarket chain to go ahead on the John B Keane road.Lidyl will need a two thirds majority from council members if the application is to get the go ahead. Councilor Maria O Gorman says she understands there has not been any negative response from the public to the current development proposal.
