Lebanese man accused of murdering two Irish UN peacekeepers to be deported from US

A Lebanese man who is suspected of murdering two Irish soldiers who were serving with the United Nations 34 years ago is to be deported from the US.United Nations 71 year old Mahmoud Bazzi is to be returned to his homeland after admitting immigration fraud. Last week John O Mahony from Scartaglen said he was looking forward to testifying at the deportation hearing of Mahmoud Bazzi. Mr O’ Mahony says he was also shot and wounded by Bazzi before Privates Thomas Barrett from Cork and Derek Smallhorne from Dublin were driven away. Both men were found shot dead nearby, with their bodies showing signs of torture. Mahmoud Bazzi could ultimately stand trial for the abduction, torture and double killings while serving with a Christian militia.
